(Original 8/21/18, update 5/3/20) Today was a beautiful day, temps mid to high 80’s not too humid and really sunny. We decided to try a local park only 10-15 minutes away from Flag House Inn, Quiet Waters Park. We had steered some guests wanting a park and some attended a wedding, but we had not visited yet, so we said “Let’s go Kayaking”
Update May, 2020. During the virus shutdown we have been revisiting our favorite parks and today we have a great 3.5 mile hike all over the park on the walking/running trail… see our pics below… You can get lookouts over the South River and also the creek where the kayak rental is located…. Plus we saw Tutles, Blue birds, Blue Jays & many other birds…
You can see some pics from out on the water. There is a rental shack with canoes, pedal boats and kayaks, both “sit-upons/ Sit-on-top” and “sit-inside”, (The difference is how wet you want to get). It was relaxing to get out on the water for an hour.
The park also has numerous pavilions, and art display and MILES of paved/unpaved walking/biking paths. (The canoe concession also has rental bikes)
So what are you waiting for? Enjoy the warm weather while it’s here and get out on the Bay!
There’s lots of wildlife in the Park – check out this Bluebird!
