Maryland Avenue and State Circle are celebrating the start of fall with their annual Fall Festival this Sunday, Sept 20 from 10 AM to 5 PM. Maryland Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from State Circle to King George Street during the festival. This will allow participants to easily move from one side of the street to the other as they browse, shop, eat, listen to music and generally have a lovely day outside on one of the oldest streets in Maryland. The shops on State Circle will also be open with outside dining and shops to browse even though the vehicular traffic will continue on the street around the State House.
Speaking of State Circle if you have not already visited there when in Annapolis you should meander up to the State House which is open for public visiting from 9 AM – 5 PM daily. Be sure to bring your photo ID to gain entrance to the State House. The room where George Washington resigned his commission as the General of the Continental Armies is there and you, too, can then walk in the same space where George Washington walked.
We are having delightful weather here in Annapolis this week so come out and enjoy the day on Sunday with locals and tourists alike.
