The Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) will host the Plein Air Competition the week of June 8 – 14, 2015 in the Historic District of Annapolis. Thirty professional artists from several countries will be setting up easels around town to paint during the week. You can stroll around the Historic District and watch the artists at work. The pieces will be competing for prizes but will also be for sale. During the week and through the end of June the paintings will be on display for viewing and for purchase at the Circle Gallery at 18 State Circle.
Throughout the week the artists will be painting along Main Street, Maryland Avenue and around the Market Place. On Sunday, June 14, a “Quick-Draw” competition will take place at the Susan B. Campbell Park which is at the end of the City Dock in Annapolis.
One of the awards to be presented is the “Peoples Choice Award” so be sure and vote for your favorite art work when you are in town.
All of this takes place just a few steps from the front porch of Flag House Inn so please stay overnight or two with us as you visit this exhibition of open air art of which Billy O’Donnell is juror. Mr. O’Donnell is himself a landscape artist as well as a plein air painter.
