Visitors come to Annapolis with many different interests in mind. The Historic District, the waterfront, boating, US Naval Academy or just to walk about town and enjoy the lovely neighborhoods and some of the great restaurants and ice cream shops we have in the downtown area.
In the next few months we have several interesting art exhibits one might want to add to the “to do” list of things to see while in Annapolis.
On St. John’s College in the Mitchell Gallery now through October 12 is an exhibit entitled “Annapolis Collects: The Mitchell Gallery Celebrates 25 Years” which brings together art, furniture and artifacts from many homes and collections throughout Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. It includes items from the Banneker-Douglas museum as well at the US Naval Academy museum collection.
At the Maryland Federation of Art on State Circle now through September 14 a National Juried Exhbition of artwork from the Americas is on display. The pieces presented are all in 2-D and 3-D style.
So, when visiting Annapolis in the next few months don’t miss these interesting exhibits that are right in the downtown area and easy walking distance from the waterfront area at City Dock or from the front porch of Flag House Inn if you plan an overnight stay along with your visit of the exhibits. Mid week is a great time to come to town so check out our availability and see if you want to stay with us for a night or two.
