The US Sailboat Show is in town as well as more rain than we have seen in months. That hasn’t dampened the spirits of the many avid sail boaters who have come out to this grand annual event of the largest in water boat show in the US. It is just a one minute walk from the Flag House Inn B&B to the main entrance gate at the city dock in historic downtown Annapolis. The show runs through Monday, Oct 14 with closing at 5 PM. If you are at the Sailboat show walk by the Flag House Inn and see if you can identify the flags flying from the front porch. We fly the flags of our guests so you will see they are from near and far.
If you are looking for other things to do this week in Annapolis you might want to visit the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College (just three blocks from Flag House Inn) and see the current exhibit of works by Karl Schrag. The exhibit contains over 70 works by the artist and include paintings, drawings and prints. For information about the exhibit and gallery hours go to http://www.stjohnscollege.edu/
An ongoing exhibit at the US Naval Academy is the War of 1812 exhibit in Mahan Hall on the USNA grounds. You can enter either through Gate 1 (right across the street from Flag House Inn B&B) or Gate 3 which is off of Maryland Avenue. Remember to bring a picture ID to get on to the USNA grounds. The exhibit ends in November so be sure and get there in the next few weeks or you will have missed a wonderful display of art and artifacts from the War of 1812.
So rain or shine there is plenty to do in Annapolis this week.
