The leaves have begun to change colors around town, sunset is arriving earlier each day and the temperatures are getting into the 60’s – all of which proclaims autumns arrival in Annapolis Maryland. Here on the front porch of Flag House Inn we still see many visitors to our lovely historic city walking between the US Naval Academy main visitor entrance gate and the City Dock/Main Street area. Now, though, most folks have on long pants instead of shorts and quite a few light fleeces or jackets are being worn.
We are all reminded to keep up with the falling leaves, get them raked up and bagged for yard waste recycling. Keeping leaves out of the bay really does help to improve the health of our cherished Chesapeake Bay area. So, get out there and get some exercise and you will certainly feel better for it – even if you have an ache or pain in some muscles tomorrow.
Halloween is fast approaching and I am sure there will be adult revelers downtown on the 31st displaying the inventive costumes they are wearing. To help the youngsters find you just leave a light on over your front door and they will know to ring the bell for a treat that evening. And, no, dental floss is not considered a treat!! A necessity after a night of Trick or Treating but leave that for Mom and Dad to remember. 🙂
