It is a beautiful weekend here in Annapolis MD and guests are already sitting on the front porch swings of Flag House Inn enjoying all the folks walking by and visiting both the US Naval Academy and the city dock waterfront area of historic Annapolis. The flags of our currents guests are flowing with the lovely breeze and the warmer temperatures today sure beat the cold and rainy weather all experienced yesterday. It was commissioning day at USNA for all the firsties (seniors) who are now either Ensigns in the Navy or First Lieutenants in the Marine Corp and even the cooler weather couldn’t dampen the joyous spirits of the graduates, their families and friends. Hurray to all the fantastic grads who now leave to serve their country in the Armed Services for the next five or more years. We all salute you and your accomplishments.
Today the focus in town has shifted to sunny weather and preparing for Memorial Day on Monday. There will be a parade into the historic downtown area on Monday morning beginning about 10 AM to salute all of our many veterans (both here and departed) and active duty service men and women. Every American owes each of them a great debt of thanks for all they do each and every day to help preserve the freedoms we cherish and which should never be taken for granted.
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day with your family and friends and remember to think of those who help keep us free.
