The unpredictable weather of April is almost over and May is just around the corner. That brings the annual May Day baskets to the Historic District of Annapolis. On Monday, May 1 many of the homes in and around the Historic District will have May baskets either on the front door, porch or steps for all to see. Many of the blossoms are from the “hidden gardens” that are behind the town homes here in Annapolis which can’t be seen from the street but are enjoyed by the home’s occupants. It is a way of sharing some of the flowering beauty with friends and guests walking about town.
Ladies, if you want to come with some of your girlfriends think of planning an afternoon tea at Reynolds Tavern (on Church Circle) to complete your day walkabout. Want to be by the water for a chat with friends think of crossing the Spa Creek bridge and (if weather permitting) sit on the outside deck at Carroll’s Creek for your bite to eat and refreshment there.
All in all a lovely and relaxing way to spend the first day of May 2017. If you would like to come in on Sunday evening and spend the night at Flag House Inn check out our availability on line to book a room.
