This has certainly been an unusual winter in the mid-Atlantic region. Much warmer than usual in Feb and now the cherry blossoms are already beginning to bloom around the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC with several weeks to go before the start of the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. The good news is that the drought is almost completely over in California even if it meant inundating rains for many it will ultimately bring much needed relief to those who have had severe water restrictions for so many years of late.

Here in Annapolis this warmer weather got Bill out pruning the rose bushes at the front of the Inn much earlier than the usual late March time frame we have been used to. The job is complete, it looks so clean and we are ready for the growth of the beautiful roses that will bloom all season long for our visual enjoyment.

When looking for a getaway think of Flag House Inn which is centrally located in the Annapolis National Register Historic District, where you can park you car on site and walk everywhere and where, at the end of a busy day, you can sit on the front porch as you watch the world go by and the roses grow.
